This is the page where we get to give you a glimpse into our hearts and intents. I love science, but I also believe in God. Can they go together? In the rest of this website, we don't dwell on spiritual issues very often. However, this is “About Us” so I’ll tell you how this site came about.
While in college, I also had an interest in what life is all about. After searching through many religions for some years, I became a Christian in my early twenty’s. One day, I started to get a cold (which I consistently did 3-4 times a year). I asked another Christian brother to pray for me – and he refused! I couldn't believe it. When I asked him why, he asked me if I thought God would heal someone of a hang-over. I said, "Well, probably not because he shouldn’t have gotten drunk anyway".
He then said that he had seen how I treat my body with "food abuse" (I didn't think all the junk food I ate was that bad). He asked that if I abused my body by not giving it what it needs to be healthy, when I had the ability to do so, why should I expect God to heal me of sickness?
I was pretty surprised but then he took the time to begin to teach me about nutrition and nutrients. A few years later it occurred to me that I had only began to get a flu once during that time. Some people prayed for me and I ended up well the next morning. Now, it might have been chance, it might have been prayer, it might have been both. However, I had more confidence (faith) in the prayer now - knowing I was doing the possible in giving my body what I knew of that it needed.
Now, it is 30 years later and I still love science and still believe in God. My wife and I know much more about nutrition (and have taught many others about it). Getting common illnesses can still happen but they are few and far between – and they don’t last long! For thirty years I have been enjoying separating out truth from fiction in nutrition (usually the hardest part). I now have a fundamental confidence that our bodies have been designed to perform wonderfully for us if we recognize two fundamental pillars of physical health:

1. We need to put into our body what it needs to do its job.
2. We need to remove the toxins that shouldn’t be there.
In real life a healthy "balanced" diet is pretty hard to come by - and still live a reasonable lifestyle in our modern world. The soil the food is grown isn't what it used to be. In addition, we are exposed to several hundred times the heavy metals and pesticides than people centuries ago. This requires some attention in you want to live a healthy life!
You will also notice on this site that we do not spend much time on the “Food Pyramid” or a "balanced diet". It is not that we are not interested in those things. It is just that they are pretty well covered in many other places. Our focus is on how supplements can add to the diet we eat - and heal many illnesses.
Accuracy and Quality
We have been amazed at how many “wife’s tales” and marketing deceptions exist in the realm of supplements! Finding accurate sources of information is very important before making decisions about nutrients.
We prefer double-blind studies much more than “a friend of my cousin” told me…and so on. There is also a tremendous amount of research coming out of Europe – especially in Germany. Because of their socialized health system, the governments actually have a motivation to look at natural prevention of diseases!
We also have a lot of respect for sites like Consumer Lab. They are the “Consumer Reports” source of the nutritional world, taking no advertising money in doing their nutritional analysis. We also look at several aspects of supplements for quality supplements.
Nutritional Products Need to Include:
1. Meaningful amounts of each ingredient! Many formulas have ridiculously low amounts of some ingredients just so they can have a long ingredient list.
2. Nutrients that interact with each other in a complex. For example, it is important to take the whole vitamin C and E complexes to receive the full benefits they offer.
3. What nutrients can be taken safely in higher amounts (than traditional allocations)? If so, is there value in doing so? There have been many scientific studies in recent years supporting the value of much higher amounts of some supplements. In many cases, the body will simply eliminate any surplus. If so, we prefer to supply the body with extra amounts and let it decide how much it wants to keep.
4. How common is the nutrient found in a normal diet? Some nutrients need more supplementation than others. The absorption and use of different forms of a supplement by the body varies. If so, we prefer to use the forms the body can better absorb and use.
We also recommend and use the best laboratories who have NSF, cGMP, ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 certifications. This insures a high-quality product!

Innovation 1 - Explanations of AMOUNTS used. There are some nutrients in which the amounts we include vary from the usual nutritional products. However, we give a brief summary of each nutrient used in our formulas. If anything varies from the "standard", we explain why so you are not left wondering.
Innovation 2 - Suggested Usuage as per WEIGHT. It is amazing how many nutritional supplements (as well as some pharmaceutical drugs) do not account for weight in their recommended daily servings. After all, does the body of a 250-pound person need the same amount of nutrition as a 100-pound person? Of course not! We account for this in our "Suggested Usage".
Innovation 3 - Suggested Usage as per DIET. There are times you have the opportunity to be able to eat much better, balanced meals. There are other times you know your schedule, travel or activity is limiting the good foods you are able to eat. With products like our "Ultimate Foundation", we emphasized that these are supplements, not prescriptions! You can adjust how much you take for how well you have been eating. With each capsule, you get a portion of every nutrient in every capsule! You don’t have to remember to pop open several other bottles to get your basic needs.
