The Search
We have researched for a long to develop a colloidal silver skin lotion to compliment our essential oil Skin Infection Defense. We are very pleased with the Skin Infection Defense. It was also a result of much experimentation and is extremely effective in killing all bacterial infections – including MRSA. The only comment occasionally mentioned with deep lesions was that there could be a slight stinging sensation (that quickly passed).
We have finally developed the perfect match – Silver Skin colloidal silver spray. Finding the perfect match of silver nanoparticles (the power aspect of colloidal silver), with ionic silver compliment for skin cell therapy was difficult. Silver Skin is designed to be the first wave of attack for deep infection wounds. It is used for the first several days until healing progress is in motion.
As the infections move towards closing up, the essential oils of Skin Infection Defense can take over. They will continue the anti-bacterial action and has special ingredients to promote skin recovery with minimal scaring.
Both products can work separately for the whole process, but are even better working together in stages.
Particle Surface Area Comparison Table
The importance of colloid particle surface area cannot be over emphasized! It is the single most important attribute for determining how effectively the colloidal particles will interact with their environment inside the human body. Professor Ronald Gibbs wrote "The size of the particles in the colloidal silver suspensions we use for health purposes is very important. Particle size controls the surface area and therefore the effectiveness of the colloidal silver suspension."
In this context, effectiveness is defined as the ability of the colloid to interact with its environment, just as in the world of chemistry, where surface area determines how well substances react with one another. Our nanoparticles have 5-20 times the surface area of competitors.
Ionic or Particle
Ionic silver does deliver silver to the body. Unfortunately, it quickly converts to silver chloride and eliminated from the body so much of its value is lost. However, as a topical skin application, it still has value in promoting skin health.
Particle silver in the nanometer range has far more reactive value – both internally and externally. This means that it kills more pathogens! It is also valuable externally in that, as it evaporates, it forms a protective coating of silver oxide a few nanometer thick. This offers ongoing bacterial protection as well as reactivation abilities when re-hydrated.
We have found that the best combination of these two qualities is an approximate 80% nanoparticle with a 20% ionic silver blend. It is extremely important that the nanoparticles are small for the best protection and healing.
Just how big is a nanometer?
A nanometer is one billionth of a meter (about 1/70,000th the size of a human hair). Our nanoparticles have been determined to have a mean diameter of less than 1 nm! This is incredibly small compared to the size of particles found in other commercially available colloidal products.
Our colloids start out as high purity metal having a purity of 0.9999. In addition, there are no chemicals, protein binders or other additives used in the colloids, only pure metal and pure water.
