Monolaurin Anti-Bacteria & Staph Effects

Over the years, we have been able to narrow down the key contributor to the legendary health of the South Sea Islanders.  It was what coconut added to their diet.  When they ate coconut oil, their body converts some of the lauric acid in coconut to monolaurin

Monolaurin is one of the most effective bacterial killers (and some viruses) in the human body – at least by what we can get by directly eating a natural supplement.  However, not everyone wants to eat the amount of coconut, or coconut oil, needed for urgent situations.  Thus, supplement makers started producing monolaurin.  This made it much more easier (and tolerable for many) to get the monolaurin needed to defeat bacterial attacks.

When we looked at monolaurin producers, we have determined the original monolaurin to be the best – and by a fair margin.

Here, we want to look at some of the tougher bacteria that Ultimate Monolaurin can kill.  Not only does monolaurin not allow bacteria to develop a resistance like Staphylococcus aureus, but also it is known to help these resistant bacteria from even infecting you in the first place!  This is even more important when we look at the types of bacteria below that monolaurin will kill.

The bacteria killed by monolaurin includes:

· Listeria monocytogenes,

· Staphylococcus aureus,

· Streptococcus agalactiae,

· Groups A, streptococci gram-positive organisms,

· and some gram-negative organisms (Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Helicobacter pylori).

The destruction of Staphylococcus aureus and decreased production of toxic shock syndrome toxin-l was shown with monolaurin.  Monolaurin was even 5000 times more inhibitory against Listeria monocytogenes than ethanol (alcohol).

Of greater significance there appears to be, as we said, very little development of resistance of the organism to the anti-bacterial effects of these natural anti-microbials.  It is even more encouraging when we understand that another great advantage of Ultimate Monolaurin is that it does not produce resistant microorganisms (super bugs) during use.

Many fungi, yeast, and protozoa are also killed by monolaurin, including:

· Several species of ringworm,

· Candida albicans,

· The protozoan parasite Giardia lamblia,

· Chlamydia trachomatis,

· Potent in vitro in activators of sexually transmitted viruses (such as HSV-2, HIV-1 and Neisserian gonorrhea).

Also important is that monolaurin does not appear to have an adverse effect on desirable gut bacteria, but rather on only potentially pathogenic microorganisms. For example, Isaacs reported no inactivation of the common Esherichiacoli or Salmonella enteritidis by monolaurin, but major inactivation of:

· Hemophilus influenza,

· Staphylococcus epidermis and

· Group B gram-positive streptococcus.

All in all, this should give many people suffering from infectious diseases hope.  Ultimate Monolaurin, combined with our Ultimate Skin Defense products and the Ultimate Foundation gives hope to people – especially people suffering from MRSA staph infections.
