A Perfect Match
 
   From the ancient Greeks, settlers putting coins in water to keep it fresh, to the modern day, people have used silver against infections.  We have also worked for a long time to develop a colloidal Silver Skin lotion to compliment our monolaurin and essential oil Skin Defense.  We have finally developed the perfect match.  For those who want to use colloidal and ionic silver to be the first wave of attack for deep infection wounds.  Silver Skin is used by silver lovers for the first 3-4 days until the healing progress is in motion. 

   As the infections move towards closing up, the nourishing monolaurins and essential oils of Skin Defense can take over.  They will continue the anti-bacterial action and has additional special ingredients to promote skin recovery with minimal scaring.  Both products can work separately and carry through for the whole process, but are even more effective working with each other in two stages.

Particle Surface Area

   Finding the perfect match of silver nano-particles (the power aspect of colloidal silver), with ionic silver, helpful for skin cell therapy was difficult. 

   The importance of silver particle surface area cannot be over emphasized.  The amount of silver surface area that comes into contact with bacteria controls the effectiveness of the colloidal silver. This means that the smaller the particles of silver are, the more silver surface comes in contact with bacteria.  Our nanoparticles, with a mean diameter of less than 1 nm, have 5-20 times the surface area of competitors!

Ionic or Particle  

Ionic silver does deliver silver to the body.  Unfortunately, internally it quickly converts to silver chloride and is eliminated from the body so much of its value is lost.  However, as a topical skin application, it still has value in promoting skin health.
 
   Particle silver in the nanometer range has far more reactive value – both internally and externally.  This means that it kills more pathogens!  It is also valuable externally in that, as it evaporates, it forms a protective coating of silver oxide a few nanometer thick.  This offers ongoing bacterial protection as well as reactivation abilities when re-hydrated.

   We have found that the best combination of these two qualities is an approximate 80% nanoparticle with a 20% ionic silver blend.  Our colloids start out as high purity metal having a purity of 0.9999.  In addition, there are no chemicals, protein binders or other additives used in the colloids, only pure metal and pure water.

Usage

   Apply Sample Bottle to a test area a couple times the first day to confirm that you are not silver allergic (few people are).  If there are no reactions, you can apply to all areas desired 3-4 times daily.  It is very fluid so simply dab any run off with a cloth.  Silver Skin is more active when wet but will also form a protective barrier when It drys.  This means that it is more effective if allowed to stay on the skin until dry before covering with dressing or clothing so they don't absorb it and remove it from the skin.  It is much more effective if sprayed on every 15 minutes for 1-1 ½ hours.  The silver gets used up as it kill bacteria and the re-application continues the action.  Studies show that surface bacterial is competed in this time.  A second application (for 2x a day) is recommended for the first few days.   

   Another effective application with severe infections is to spray the infection and saturate a dressing before placing the dressing on.  Cover the dressing with plastic wrap to keep it moist for a few hours.  Either way, the goal is to keep a sufficient amount of Silver Skin moist and in contact with the infection for a few hours.  

   Silver Skin will stay effective indefinitely if not frozen or contaminated.  Do not freeze, dab cloth or cotton onto the bottle opening or pour any amounts back into the bottle.  If the lotion becomes clear after freezing, it means the colloidal silver has settled on the bottom and will not be as effective.  More information is in our "A-Z Articles".

       Silver: 0.9999% pure.     Estimated concentration: 44.8 ppm.

       Particle silver, 80%,  (average diameter less than 1 nanometer.)

       Ionic silver,     20%.

Inactive ingredients:    Distilled and double de-ionized laboratory grade water.
